The “IL PAGO” Agritourism Farm is located in the heart of a vast area in the Lucanian Ionian belt, in the municipality of Rotondella, Basilicata. Today, agriculture in this area mainly focuses on horticulture and fruit-growing. Once a land reclaimed from malaria and isolation over the past fifty years, it now hosts charming towns such as Marina di Nova Siri, Policoro, Bernalda, and Metaponto. Surrounded by greenery and tranquility, it offers the ideal location for a relaxing and unique holiday, discovering the countless secrets of a fascinating land whose history stretches back to the Magna Graecia period. A stay at Agriturismo “Il Pago” is also the perfect opportunity to explore the Lucanian territory. Nearby, you will find Metaponto, famous for the Tavole Palatine, and Heraclea, known for the artifacts preserved at the National Museum of Siritide. The agritourism offers 4 welcoming and comfortable rooms, renovated and furnished while preserving the rustic style of the region. The accommodations, with independent entrances, feature private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers, bed and bath linen, air conditioning, autonomous heating, refrigerators, and free Wi-Fi. Upon request, cribs and high chairs are provided for the youngest guests. Daily housekeeping and towel changes are included. The restaurant, located in Rotondella on Via Piano del Forno between Nova Siri and Policoro, is open every day by reservation, even with short notice, to check availability. The farm selects the best fresh fruits (apricots, plums, oranges, figs, strawberries, and melons), grown on-site, following the natural seasonal cycle to prepare jams and preserves in a modern laboratory. Cooking follows traditional methods without added preservatives or pectins, fully respecting hygiene standards for consumer safety. Guests can enjoy these delicious preserves on bread for breakfast or as toppings for cakes, yogurt, and ice cream. The IL PAGO Educational Farm is designed for children, accompanied by parents or teachers, to explore farm life through activities connected to local traditions, from historical practices to modern agricultural techniques. Through specialized workshops, children can develop direct contact with nature, animals, and practical skills. The educational farm serves as an outdoor school, primarily focused on environmental and food education.

Grano "Senatore Cappelli". Definito “razza eletta” negli anni 30/40, il grano Senatore Cappelli è sempre stato di largo uso nelle terre del Mezzogiorno e, in particolare, in Basilicata. E’ chiamato in questo modo in onore del senatore Cappelli, promotore della riforma agraria che ha portato alla distinzione tra grani duri e grani teneri. Il grano Cappelli è un frumento duro, aristato (cioè dotato di ariste, i filamenti che si notano nelle graminacee), ottenuto per selezione genealogica effettuata a Foggia, nel 1915, da Nazareno Strampelli. Per decenni è stata la coltivazione più diffusa, fino a quando non si sono diffuse delle varietà meno pregiate ma più produttive.
